The method involves directly emitting the light from a light source (1) to the special retro-reflector (2) with low offset. The light reflected from the retro-reflector is coaxially introduced into a beam path of an image processing device (3). The illumination from the beam path is twice interrupted to an image retainer, so that the dark portion is formed against the background. An independent claim is included for device for detecting reflexive properties of optical fiber.
