The charging cable (5) has a connecting element (4) that is connected with a vehicle-side connector (3) of an energy storage unit (2) or a connection unit (17) of an external power source (6). An electrical heater (9) is provided for heating the connecting element and a portion (10) of the charging cable. The electrical heater is provided with a heating conductor that is extended over the entire length of the charging cable.
