Control device for controlling e.g. overlay steering, of motor vehicle, has observation device determining estimated values from characterizing parameters of motor vehicle in response to sensor signal and providing signal output
The device (10) has an observation device (16) that is adapted to a signal input of a sensor signal and determining estimated values (Cv, Ch) from parameters of motor vehicle in response to the sensor signal and providing signal output (20). A stability parameter of the motor vehicle is determined based on the estimated values. The observation device is designed for adjusting a model parameter i.e. tape skew rigidity, of a positioned model (22), with respect to the sensor signal. A lateral acceleration sensor (12) and/or a greed rate sensor (14) are coupled with the observation device. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a motor vehicle.
