The method involves removing the damaged surface of the magnetic printing cylinder. A composite layer (4) consisting of a solid material (2) and a binder (3) e.g. adhesive or synthetic resin is applied to base (10) of magnetic printing cylinder. The surface ablation of magnetic printing cylinder is performed to attain its original nominal dimension (5), after the composite layer is hardened. The solid material is selected from glass fiber, carbon fiber, metallic round/rectangular wire and braided fabric.
