The gear wheel assembly (1) has a hub (4) that is supported by a main gear wheel (2). A hub is provided in a receiving hole (21). The side gear wheel (3) is rotated opposingly with respect to main gear wheel in the circumferential direction (5). The side gear wheel is secured on the main gear wheel in axial direction (10) at mounting position. A resilient retaining ring (15) is inserted in locking groove (19). The retaining ring is arranged between the outer surfaces (16) of the side gear wheel in the axial direction at mounting position.
