The present invention relates to an ecu information about a relative position with respect to a relative position between an output of vehicle and another vehicle (a, b, c), which in front of the output of vehicle is running, and error information in regard to a fault in the relative position, detects the position of a vehicle traveling ahead, (a), which in front of the output of vehicle is running, identifies the position of the preceding vehicle (a) by comparing the relative position on the basis of the related information about the relative position with the detected position, and if information about the relative position by means of a plurality of other vehicles (a, b, c), identifies the position of the preceding vehicle (a) by comparing the relative position on the basis of the related information about the relative position with the detected position, by using a threshold value which, according to the error information is varied.
