The retractor has two supporting surfaces (A1.1, A1.2) spaced apart from a rotational axis (D1). The supporting surfaces are arranged such that a seat belt (1) is wound along a winding path upon rotation of the supporting surface around the rotational axis. The supporting surfaces form a curvedly extending detour portion of the winding path. Input clearances (F1.1, F1.2) are produced between the supporting surfaces to form rectilinearly extending portion of the winding path. Length of the curvedly extending detour portion is less than length of the rectilinearly extending portion. An independent claim is also included for a safety belt system.
