The supercharger (10) has a guide device (24) arranged separate from a turbine housing (14). The guide device comprises a carrier element (28) arranged in an axial direction near than a lid element (26) i.e. contour element, to a bearing housing (20). Guide vanes (30) of the guide device are movably supported at the lid- and carrier elements such that an exhaust gas flowing through a flow channel (32) is derivable by the guide vanes relative to the lid- and carrier elements. The carrier element is held at the turbine housing and sealed by a seal element against the turbine housing.
