The internal combustion engine (1) has a cylinder that is provided with a cylinder head portion (2) on the top of an integrated intake manifold (3). A suction pipe is arranged between intake manifold and a combustion chamber of the cylinder. A cooling unit (8) is connected partially within the intake manifold and/or the suction pipe. A support plate (9) is sealed in the opening of the cooling element (10) in the intake manifold.
