The system has a set of light sources arranged at a rear side of a motor car as turn indicators for road users. The light sources assigned to an electrical control unit are switched-on by a manual switching device as a function of switched-on direction indicator. The light source produces a representation as turn indicators by using color, shining symbols or switching-on intervals. A relay of the control unit is held in connection with a diode and the activated light source until the direction indicator is switched-off.
