Spacing control method for regulating target spacing between vehicles in lane, involves calculating dynamic parameters as function of relative velocity between own vehicle and traveling ahead vehicle and current target distance
The distance between the own vehicle (101) and traveling ahead vehicles (102,103) in respective lane (104) and adjacent lane (105) is detected according to a current traffic situation. The dynamic parameters are calculated as function of a relative velocity between the own vehicle and the vehicle (103) and the current target distance. The current target distance within a predetermined distance limits is modified in response to one of the currently determined dynamic parameter of vehicle (103).
