The spreader has an adjusting shaft whose end is connected with throw shovels (7, 8) by a connector for formation of an adjustment device. A positioning device for adjusting the adjusting shaft and throw shovels is attached to another end of the adjusting shaft. The positioning device and the adjusting shaft include a sensor that is utilized for measuring drive torque and/or force applied on the throw shovels. The rotational torque and/or force are produced by fertilizer mass flow to be thrown off from the throw shovels.
