The method involves detecting non-occurrence of movement-induced vibrations of a moving object i.e. rail-mounted vehicle, in a standstill condition using a highly sensitive acceleration sensor, where the vibrations are detected in a measuring axis parallel to a travelling direction or a gravity force. A signal output of the acceleration sensor is connected with a door control device of the rail-mounted vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a device for object-side standstill recognition of a moving object.
