The device has a heating element (1) i.e. U-flow element, enclosed by a tape (4) that comprises sections (12a, 12b) and is displaced at the heating element. The sections are arranged in the tape such that an air inlet side (18) and an air outlet side (19) of the heating element are released or closed. Sliding aids are arranged at the heating element. The tape is displaced on the sliding aids. The sliding aids comprise support ribs that support the tape and are spaced at a distance from the heating element. The tape is guided over rollers and at the heating element. An independent claim is also included for a modular assembly.
