The method involves closing a separation valve (54). Braking pressure is reduced in another brake circuit (10), and valves (40a, 42a) of the latter brake circuit is controlled, where the latter brake circuit is controlled during limiting pressure increase in the first latter circuit in an opened state. The separation valve is controlled in the opened state. A pressure equalization valve (56) of the former brake circuit (12) is controlled, where the former brake circuit is connected with a brake fluid container (20) of a brake system in the opened state.
