The surface treatment apparatus (12,14,16) has several horizontal bearing transport discs (20) which are arranged in parallel to a vertical plane. Each horizontal bearing transport disc is provided with sliding seats for a workpiece (36) along the periphery, such that the sliding seat forms a receptacle for the workpiece. The sliding seats are arranged rotationally symmetrically on each transport disc. The transport discs are mounted on a common axis.
