The tube i.e. LED tube (100), has two ends (102) provided with conductive contact pins (104), respectively. The pins at one end of the tube are coverable by a cylindrical or truncated cone-shaped cap (106) in a rest state of the cap. The cap is manipulable by introduction of the end of the tube into a socket element, so that the pins at the former end are accessible for being in contact with the socket element. The cap comprises a spring element, which is arranged such that the cap is manipulable against spring force by introduction of the end of the tube into the socket element. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a lighting tube.
