The actuator (1) has a linear drive (10) including an output element (20) for transmitting linear reciprocating motion, and an actuating element (31) for moving brake shoe (2) between open and closed positions. The output element is engaged with actuating element such that the actuating element is pivoted around rotational axis by reciprocating motion of output element, to move brake shoe from open position to closed position. The distance between reference axes of output and actuating elements in linear direction is increased during lifting and pivoting movement. An independent claim is included for a powertrain for combustion engine of motor car.
