The method involves storing predetermined number of time-sequentially following data pairs. The difference between measurement value of input speed and measured value of stored values of output speed is calculated. The difference between measured value of output speed and measurement value of stored measured values of input speed is calculated. The calculated differences are provided by minimizing difference operation to output smallest value in terms of magnitude as current slip value.
