Preparing middle distillates from a paraffin charge produced by Fischer-Tropsch synthesis comprises implementing a hydrocracking and/or hydroisomerization catalyst comprising at least one hydrodehydrogenating metal comprising metals of group VIB and/or VIII of the periodic table and a composite support formed by a Y-type zeolite and silicon carbide, where the: process is operated at a temperature of 270-400[deg] C, a pressure of 1-9 MPa and hourly volume speed of 0.5-5 hours - 1, and hydrogen flow is adjusted to obtain a ratio of 400-1500 normal liters of hydrogen per liter of charge.
