The system (8) has a determining unit (9) for determining rise time at which pressure of a pneumatic pressure box (4) i.e. automatic gear box, is reached at speeds of determined threshold value. Another determining unit (10) determines activation time of a power unit group (1) with an engine (2) that provides torque to a car in motion. A comparing unit (11) compares the time for pressure rise and the time for activating the power unit group. The pressure box is controlled by a lever (6), where the pressure box is provided with jacks fed by a hydraulic unit (5). An independent claim is also included for a method for activating a power unit group of a car.
