The system has a rectifier (RED) rectifying a current supplied from a single phase electrical network, and an inductor (L) receiving the rectified current (IRED) supplied by the rectifier. A conversion stage includes a transistor (TBCK) to pulse width modulate a current (IL) supplied to a coil of the inductor to control the rectified current. The transistor modulates the current intensity of the coil so that the average value of the modulated current intensity is equal to the value of a reference current having the shape of a sinusoid in phase with a rectified input voltage of the system.
