Cosmetic use of dedifferentiated plant cells from a plant of Rosa sp., or an extract or a lyophilizate of cells, as an active agent, for caring aged skin or aged hair, is claimed. An independent claim is included for a cosmetic composition comprising either, as active agent, the dedifferentiated plant cell, or the dedifferentiated plant cell derived from a Lancome rosebush, or an extract or a lyophilizate of the cell, where the dedifferentiated plant cells are obtained by placing plant cells of Rosa sp. in culture in a culture medium comprising at least ammonium nitrate, potassium nitrate, calcium chloride, magnesium sulfate, monopotassium phosphate, manganese(II) sulfate, zinc sulfate heptahydrate, potassium iodide, sodium molybdate, cupric sulfate, ferrous sulfate heptahydrate, myoinositol, nicotinic acid, pyridoxine hydrochloride, thiamine hydrochloride or sucrose, and optionally kinetin, EDTA disodium dihydrate and/or naphthaleneacetic acid.
