PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate a charge amount in charged paint sprayed from a coating gun using less measurement items, in an electrostatic coating device.;SOLUTION: A charge amount measuring method is configured to measure a charge amount in charged droplets 7 using a charging amount measurement jig 10, which includes a unit 11 of a plate to be coated with the charged droplets 7 sprayed from a coating gun 3 and adhered thereon, and a mesh 2 disposed between the plate to be coated and the coating gun. The method includes: a step of measuring a charge amount Qs' carried in the plate to be coated in the case the charged droplets are not sprayed from the coating gun; a step of measuring a charge amount Qs carried in the plate to be coated in the case the charged paint is sprayed from the coating gun; a step of measuring a mass increment W caused by that the charged paint is carried on the plate to be coated and adhered thereon in the same sprayed case; and a step of calculating the charge amount r in the charged paint sprayed from the coating gun defined by formula: r=(Qs-c×Qs')/W, where c is a constant.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
