PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively measure a unit molecule of a polymer by using a laser ionization sputtered neutral particle mass analysis method for detecting less-cleaved neutral particles (unit molecule) emitted from a high molecular material.;SOLUTION: A unit molecule identification method of a polymer material according to the invention includes irradiating a polymer material with an inactive ion beam to the polymer material, irradiating neutral particles sputtered from the polymer material with a laser beam to ionize the neutral particles, and performing mass analysis of the ionized neutral particles. The identification method determines irradiation timing of the laser beam from mass of the unit molecule assumed to be present in the polymer material and detects the unit molecule, using a fact that a neutral particle transit time required to transit from the surface of the polymer material to a laser beam irradiation position which is an ionization position of the neutral particles, after the neutral particles are sputtered from the polymer material changes according to unit molecule mass of the polymer material.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
