PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for controlling a process of machine work for removal of a rotation chip of a cut material and a cutting tool used in the device.SOLUTION: A device for controlling a process of machine work for removal of a rotation chip of a cut material comprises a monitoring system for monitoring the machine work for removal of the rotation chip of the cut material. The monitoring system includes at least one surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensor (48; 148; 248) which is so disposed as to be attached to a cutting tool (1; 101; 201) for the machine work for removal of the rotation chip of the cut material. The monitoring system is equipped with at least one first antenna (50; 150; 250) which is so disposed as to be attached to the cutting tool, and said at least one first antenna can be connected to at least one SAW sensor. Further, the monitoring system includes at least one second antenna (52), and the first antenna is disposed in such a manner that wireless communication can be performed between the first antenna and the second antenna.
