PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give a phase difference to a transmitted light more accurately than a prior art in an optical film such as a pattern phase difference film.;SOLUTION: An optical film 1 has an alignment film 3 and a phase difference layer 4 sequentially provided on a base material 2 made of a transparent film material, and gives a phase difference to transmitted light by the phase difference layer 4 by patterning a liquid crystal material of the phase difference layer 4 by alignment regulating force of the alignment film 3. The alignment film 3 has protrusions with height of 5 nm or less formed at a pitch of 20 μm or less, and a change in phase difference at a boundary of the adjacent protrusions is suppressed to 10 nm or less.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
