PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a method for producing nanoparticles having small particle diameters at low cost by means of a spray combustion method; and the like.SOLUTION: A method for producing fine particles includes the steps of: spraying, in a droplet form, a raw material emulsion 13 that is a water-in-oil emulsion including a raw material solution dispersed as droplets, the raw material solution containing silicon-containing fine particles and lithium ions as well as raw material metal ions other than lithium and silicon, in a combustible liquid; and firing the combustible liquid in droplets 21 to form fine particles 27. The raw material emulsion 13 may contain a surfactant.
