PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic compound for use in the working electrode for a dye-sensitized solar cell exhibiting excellent associativity to an organic compound (e.g., sensitization dye, association retarder) carried on the metal oxide surface, and can enhance durability (long term reliability), and to provide a working electrode using the same, and a dye-sensitized solar cell.SOLUTION: The organic compound carried on a working electrode 11 for a dye-sensitized solar cell 100 has a structure of formula (1), and the working electrode 11 for the dye-sensitized solar cell has a substrate 12 and a metal oxide layer 13 provided on the substrate, and the metal oxide layer contains a metal oxide and an organic compound of formula (1). (In the formula, X represents an atomic group composed of a carbon atom and an atom selected from a hydrogen atom, an oxygen atom, a nitrogen atom, a sulfur atom, a phosphor atom, a halogen atom, and a transition metal atom. Y and Z represent, respectively, a hydrogen atom or a monovalent cation).
