PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multifunction device operation of which can be explained easily to understand, and can be determined immediately whether or not reasonable, and to provide an operation explanation method.SOLUTION: The multifunction device includes alarm detection means for detecting generation of an alarm, storage means for storing a plurality of types of video data corresponding to the types of the alarm, operation display means for displaying the video data, and control means. When occurrence of an alam is detected by the alarm detection means, the control means selects and reproduces the video data corresponding to the type of the alarm, before being displayed on the operation display means. Subsequently, the control means determines whether or not the operation performed corresponding to the video data is correct, and outputs predetermined information corresponding to the determination results to the operation display means.
