PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of an ester compound in which viscosity index is high, low-temperature fluidity is excellent, and a contaminant is few; the ester compound obtained by the method; a lubricant base oil and a grease base oil that comprise blending the same; and a lubricant and a grease using the same.;SOLUTION: A production method of an ester compound comprises making alcohol react with an acid halide, wherein the ester compound has a structure shown by general formula (1), and a tertiary amine is made to exist in the reaction time. (R1 and R2 each independently denote a 5-18C alkyl group; R3n denotes hydrogen or an at most 5C alkyl group; R4n denotes hydrogen or CH2OR5n; R5n denotes a 5-18C alkyl group; and n denotes an integer from 1 to 3.);COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
