PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a music composition support device, a music composition support method, a music composition support program, recording medium storing the music composition support program and a melody retrieval device enabling composition of music easily in accordance with lyrics and composition of various musical pieces.;SOLUTION: A sound number analysis part 44 extracts the number of sounds from lyrics input from an input unit 45 of a lyrics input terminal 40. A measure allocation analysis part 43 allocates the number of sounds to a measure and transmits the measure with the number of sounds allocated thereto to a management server 30. A melody retrieval part 37 of the management server 30 retrieves melody matching the number of sounds transmitted from the lyrics input terminal 40 in the units of a plurality of measures, from a MIDI data DB storage part 35. A voice data encoding part 33 converts the retrieved melody into voice data and transmits the voice data to the lyrics input terminal 40.
