PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back monitor camera enabling easy grasp of distance feeling when a vehicle is driven back to a backward parking lot, and confirmation of both right and left ends of a rear bumper.SOLUTION: A back monitor camera 100, mounted on the rear face of a vehicle CR having a slender shaped rear bumper RB in the transverse direction, includes: an imaging element array 110 having a matrix array of a plurality of picture imaging elements 111; and an image formation optical system, whose field angle at a central region is smaller than the field angle of a fisheye lens and the size of the central region is larger than the size of a peripheral region, having a field angle within the range from 140 degrees to 190 degrees so that both right and left ends of the rear bumper RB are imaged on the imaging element array 110.
