METHOD OF DETERMINING GRADE OF SHIITAKE MUSHROOM USING IMAGE PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the grade of shiitake mushroom properly and simply.;SOLUTION: A computer calculates a direction of a gradient vector θ of a luminance component of a pixel to be processed, from pixels constituting a shiitake mushroom image, to obtain a gradient direction image. The computer calculates a direction difference of the gradient vector from the gradient direction image to obtain a direction difference image. The direction difference is formed of a difference q1 to be obtained from a difference between a line β1 intersecting at a predetermined angle with a vector line θ from a center O of shiitake mushroom in pixel points and a direction of the gradient vector γ. The computer determines whether the direction difference is equal to or less than a predetermined threshold, to determine a gill part and a non-gill part from the direction difference image. The area of a gill area 1A including the gill part is compared with the area of the shiitake mushroom image detected in advance. The computer calculates a ratio of the gill area on the basis of the proportion thereof. The grade of the shiitake mushroom is determined on the basis of a value of the calculated gill area ratio.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
