PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a virtual viewpoint image composition device capable of composing images at arbitrarily set virtual viewpoints into a natural and high quality image.;SOLUTION: The virtual viewpoint image composition device includes: image input means which inputs multi-viewpoint images; corresponding point detection means which detects a plurality of corresponding points between multi-viewpoint images; corresponding point selection means which selects only corresponding points meeting a prescribed condition from the plurality of detected corresponding points; viewpoint position setting means which sets a desired viewpoint; pixel projection means which projects pixels on a composite viewpoint image being a composite image at a set viewpoint, in accordance with depth values of pixels at the selected corresponding points; patch search means which searches for patch areas to be pasted for pixels which are not projected by the pixel projection means; patch projection means which projects the searched patch areas on the composite viewpoint image; and patch combining means which combines the patch areas projected on the composite viewpoint image.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
