PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the content of nitrogen components, especially ammonia nitrogen, contained in a methane fermentation digested liquid by a compact apparatus configuration.SOLUTION: A method for treating nitrogen in a methane fermentation digested liquid includes an ammonia nitrogen reducing process of performing treatment for reducing at least the content of ammonia nitrogen (NH-N) contained in a digested liquid generated by methane fermentation of organic waste under an anaerobic condition. The ammonia nitrogen reducing process is aerobic treatment by aerobic denitrifying bacteria which grow using, as main nutrient sources, the ammonia nitrogen and residual organic substances remaining in the digested liquid without being decomposed in a process of the methane fermentation.
