PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device capable of preventing malfunctioning of operation buttons disposed in an edge area of a display screen due to a water droplet accumulated on a touch panel.SOLUTION: The input device includes: a coordinate acquisition section 102 that converts a touch position into a touch input coordinate using a signal from a touch sensor 101; a movement direction calculation section 103 that calculates a movement direction of the coordinate acquired from the coordinate acquisition section 102; a terminal direction determination section 105 that determines the direction of the input device from the signal of a tilt sensor 104; a malfunction position determination section 106 that determines the bottom side in a gravity direction with respect to a direction of the input device as a malfunction position; a malfunction determination section 107 that determines an occurrence of a malfunction based on the touch input coordinate, the movement direction, the terminal direction and the malfunction position; and a selection determination section 108 that determines the effectiveness of a selection operation based on the result of the malfunction determination section 107.
