PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst carrier for exhaust gas purification that can obtain a transition metal carrier catalyst that shows excellent catalytic activity even when being exposed to high temperature, especially high catalytic activity from comparatively cold temperature.;SOLUTION: A catalyst carrier for exhaust gas purification comprises a complex metal oxide porous body including alumina, ceria, and zirconia, an inclusion ratio of the alumina being 30-80 mass%, wherein in the complex metal oxide porous body after burning for 5 hours in air at 1100°C, in 100 fine small regions (one fine small region is length 300 nm×width 330 nm) obtained from an energy dispersion type X-ray analysis performed by a scan transmission electron microscope with a spherical surface aberration correction device, a condition in which standard deviations of an inclusion ratio (unit: at%) of an aluminum element, a cerium element and a zirconium element are all at most 19 is satisfied.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
