PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent moving time from being wasted by combining continuous two move instructions without imposing an excessive load on a drive mechanism.;SOLUTION: The numerical controller performs positioning control of a tool or a workpiece in a position wherein a moving direction and a moving amount are instructed by a moving instruction based on a fixed acceleration and a normal constant velocity. A control method includes: a procedure (S145) of calculating an execution velocity of a preceding instruction; a procedure (S75) of determining whether the execution velocity of the preceding instruction is immediately before deceleration start; a procedure (S10) of receiving the instruction; a procedure (S40) of determining whether the instruction instructs the same direction as the preceding instruction; a procedure (S50) of determining whether the instruction allows arrival in the normal constant velocity; a procedure (S55) of changing a constant velocity section velocity; a procedure (S135) of calculating an execution velocity of current instruction; and a procedure (S150) of combining the calculated execution velocities of the preceding instruction and current instruction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
