PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable accurate detection of the state of a lead-acid battery even when a jump-start is carried out.SOLUTION: A lead-acid battery state detection device 1 used for detecting a state of a lead-acid battery incorporated in a vehicle includes: current detection means (current sensor 12) for detecting a current flowing in a lead-acid battery 14; voltage detection means (voltage sensor 11) for detecting a voltage of the lead-acid battery; abnormal charging/discharging detection means (control part 10) for detecting an abnormal charging/discharging on the basis of a change in a current and a voltage detected by the current detection means and voltage detection means if an external device is directly connected to a terminal of the lead-acid battery and if the lead-acid battery is charged or discharged without going via the current detection means; and state detection means (control part 10) for detecting a state of the lead-acid battery by referring to a current value and a voltage value detected by the current detection means and voltage detection means and to a detection result of the abnormal charging detection means.
