PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for winding of a stator coil, capable of manufacturing the stator coil in a rotary electric machine, which prevents generation of displacement or the like in a slot housing when forming the stator coil.;SOLUTION: In the method and apparatus for winding of the stator coil, the compact of a lead wire 50 having a plurality of slot holders 51 and turning portions 52 are arcuately or vortically wound by one or more round, with a plurality of turning portions 52 along the circumferential direction.
