PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light molded refractory for metal casting having good insulation (thermal insulation) that can suppress sticking of metal caused by penetration of molten metal and surface reaction without need for postprocessing such as coating.;SOLUTION: The molded refractory for metal casting is made of a raw material including 9-95 mass% of inorganic fiber, 4-20 mass% of a silica binder, and 1-87 mass% of at least one ionic substance selected from calcium fluoride, magnesium fluoride, calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, barium oxide, and barium sulfate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
