PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monolithic refractory composition capable of securing workability and laminating resistance of a molten metal during drying or burning and capable of enhancing strength during drying or burning and a cured article thereof.SOLUTION: There is provided a monolithic refractory composition for metal casting containing 15 to 75 mass% of an inorganic fiber, 21 to 65 mass% of colloidal silica in terms of silica and 4 to 40 mass% of one or more kinds of ion binding material selected from calcium fluoride, magnesium fluoride, calcium oxide or a precursor thereof, magnesium oxide or a precursor thereof, barium oxide or a precursor thereof and barium sulfide in a solid component.SELECTED DRAWING: None
