PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high carbon steel wire rod having excellent wire drawability in which productivity in a dry wire drawing process is remarkably improved, and to provide a method for producing the high carbon steel wire rod.;SOLUTION: A high carbon steel wire rod with a specified composition used for dry wire drawing is used as a pearlite structure.
