Production method of graphite-like carbon nitride

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide particulate powder which is a graphitic carbon nitride (g-CN) with various metals inserted between layers and has large specific surface, and to provide a method for production thereof.SOLUTION: The main component of the metal-inserted graphitic carbon nitride is a powder obtained by treating the powder of graphitic carbon nitride in an aqueous solution including metal ions. The treatment is preferably performed by heating. The particulate powder with an increased specific surface is obtained by inserting metals thereinto. A substance having excellent catalytic activity or a substance having a visible light absorption property different from the graphitic carbon nitride is also obtained.
