PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prism optical system capable of projecting an image on an image display element on an eyeball of an observer as a virtual image by using a very small, lightweight optical element having a high degree of freedom in a shape thereof.;SOLUTION: A prism optical system includes at least four optical surfaces having an optical action.
