PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method for cap pieces using a connection member for cap pieces with which excellent appearance is ensured for a long time.;SOLUTION: A construction method for cap pieces uses a connection member for cap pieces. The connection member comprises a first member and a second member. The first member includes a front face part which covers a gap between counter end faces of a pair of cap pieces to be connected from a front side, a pair of right and left side face parts which extend from both terminal portions of the front face part and cover the gap from both right and left sides, respectively, and a front face part side insertion plane part which extends from the front face part to a rear side and enters the gap from a front side of the cap pieces. The second member includes a pair of right and left rear face parts which extend from distal end portions of the side face parts and cover a portion exposed from a step wall surface of the gap from a rear side, respectively, and a rear face part side insertion plane part comprised of an insertion portion which extends from the rear face parts to a front side and enters the portion exposed from the step wall surface of the gap from a rear side of the cap pieces, and an extension portion which extends from the insertion portion to an opposite side.
