PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil return operation method for a multi-air conditioner, in which an oil return operation corresponding to an installation situation can be performed while restraining unnecessary deterioration of air conditioning feeling, generation of noise and power loss. PSOLUTION: This oil return operation method for the multi-air conditioner 1, in which a plurality of indoor units 9 are connected in parallel for at least one outdoor unit 3, includes a step of inputting the vertical positional relation between the outdoor unit 3 and the indoor units 9 and a step of performing oil return control of a content corresponding to the input vertical positional relation.
