The present invention is intended to provide a quantum dot fluorescent fine particle having a high durability and a high brightness. The object of the present invention is to provide a method for applying it to a fluorescent reagent, an electronic material field, etc., in the biotechnology field. A fluorescent fine particle coated with a quantum glass containing CD and se is made from a silicon alkoxide having an average film thickness of 3 nm or less. The fluorescent fine particles can be prepared by a method of forming a quantum dot containing CD and Se in a hydrophobic atmosphere by stirring together with an alkoxide for a predetermined period of time. In this method, it is preferable to include the step of gradually increasing the silica glass layer using the reverse micelle method or the like after the silanization step.
