PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass fiber, capable of improving its COSB2/SBlaser processability when used for the production of printed wiring boards, and to provide a glass composition for the glass fiber, used for the production of the glass fiber. PSOLUTION: The glass composition for the glass fiber contains, on the basis of the total number of mole of constituents, 55-60 mol% of SiOSB2/SB, 4-6 mol% of AlSB2/SBOSB3/SB, 5-9 mol% of BSB2/SBOSB3/SB, 12-20 mol% of CaO, 3-8 mol% of BaO, 3-6 mol% of ZnO, 1-3 mol% of NaSB2/SBO, 1-3 mol% of LiSB2/SBO and 0-1 mol% of KSB2/SBO, wherein the total mol% of NaSB2/SBO, LiSB2/SBO and KSB2/SBO is 2-5 mol% and the total mol% of NaSB2/SBO and LiSB2/SBO is at least 2 mol%.
